2022 Development Goals

So I decided to create an actual, obtainable goal this year in 2022 and while I am writing this story on January 17th, it doesn’t mean I haven’t made any progress towards this goal.

My goal this year is to publish 12 apps to the app store this year. There is no requirements for what the apps must be or do, nor their complexity… simply 12 apps. I am doing this because done is better than perfect.

I have spent so much of my time trying to create perfect products. It shoud look perfect. It should work perfectly. It should feel perfect. While all of these ideas are great in theory, I only need to look back on my catalog of perfect projects…or even finished projects. Well, they aren’t there. They exist only in my mind and the graveyard of million dollar ideas. I would get an idea to create something and while I would get to various points in the development stage, they all ended up abandoned or passed off. This is a bit unsettling. I mean, I have had years to come up with something, and while I have a lot of experience in bootcamps and tutorials I still have yet to create something myself.

That being said instead of creating the perfect app or even a good app. I am going to be creating 12 working apps. Their corners may be rough and their bugs may be aplenty but I can hopefully look back on 2022 and see what I have created. It’s a whole lot easier to fix bugs that exist when they exist and update the look of an app that is actually in the app store.

I look forward to creating these apps and if you want to follow along on my journey I will be posting updates here.

Now if you are wondering how I have made progress on this goal and we are halfway through with January 2022 then I will give you a hint. Something is already on the app stores. Stay tuned for my next post where I talk about it and share links to where you can download them.
